Description

The Indian Land Tenure Foundation (ILTF) is a national Native-led nonprofit that serves Native nations and people in the recovery and control of their land Through education and cultural awareness, they work to create economic opportunity and reform the legal and administrative systems that prevent Indian people from owning and controlling reservation lands. This grant will support their 13 th annual Tribal Land Staff National Conference, cohosted with the Native Tribal Land Association, a professional association created and ILTF to create unity in Indian Country for tribal land professionals, and to be a voice for the protection of Indian lands. The focus on developing capacity for the management and control of tribal lands by both Individuals (usually allotees) and Tribes is critically important to advancing Indigenous land rights across the US.
