This grant will support the Global Indigenous Leadership in Genomics Symposium (GILGS’24) hosted by the Summer internship for INdigenous peoples in Genomics (SING) in Canada at the University of British Columbia. The SING Consortium includes member organizations from the United States, Canada, Mexico, Aotearoa/New Zealand and Australia. It is the collective leading voice in Indigenous-led genomics, bioinformatics, data sovereignty, and Indigenous ethics globally. Their work reframes Indigenous peoples with the knowledge and expertise to govern the genome sciences and technologies affecting them.
