About Noah
Noah Perales-Estoesta is an editor of print and digital books. Born and raised on the island of O‘ahu, he attended the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa as a first-generation student, double-majoring in English and Spanish. During his time as an undergraduate, he worked for nearly three years at Mānoa: A Pacific Journal of International Writing, a biannual literary publication highlighting international literature. After graduating in 2015, Noah lived in Brazil as a Fulbright Scholar, teaching English and researching the country’s literature and publishing industry. He edited Becoming Brazil: New Fiction, Poetry, and Memoir, a special issue of Mānoa that gathered a diverse collection of Brazilian literature in English translation. From 2017 to 2021, he worked at the University of Hawai‘i Press, where he oversaw open-access and backlist-digitization initiatives, managed the creation and distribution of metadata and e-books, and coordinated grant projects. He also spearheaded UH Press’s participation in various digital-publishing initiatives, such as the Sustainable History Monograph Pilot and the use of Manifold, a web-based platform for iterative scholarly publications. In 2021, he received a fellowship from the Henry Luce Foundation to continue his publishing work at Silkworm Books in Chiang Mai, Thailand.Noah's Scholar Story
