About Margaret
Margaret (Meg) Burns is an aspiring curator and art historian from San Antonio, Texas. She graduated from the University of Notre Dame in May 2021 with a B.A. in Art History with honors. In addition to her work on campus as a curatorial assistant and event programmer at the Snite Museum of Art, Meg has also held positions in the curatorial departments at the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art, and the Terra Foundation. A dedication to diversifying art world narratives and building international partnerships drove Meg to apply for the Luce Scholars Program. During her Luce year, Meg worked for Fulbright University Vietnam in Hồ Chí Minh City. A researcher, guest lecturer, and teaching assistant under art historians Dr. Pamela Corey and Dr. Nora Taylor, Meg spent her year immersed in the past, present, and future of Vietnamese contemporary art. She cherished her time getting to know the burgeoning and constantly changing art world of Vietnam and hopes to integrate her research on Southeast Asian contemporary art into future graduate studies.
