About Jesse

Jesse Chase-Lubitz graduated from Columbia University in December 2018. She is currently an intern at Politico in Washington, D.C., where she covers agriculture, trade, and Canada. Jesse was born and raised in Rhode Island. Though her goal now is to become a global journalist or foreign correspondent, growing up she planned to be a professional ballet dancer. She trained in classical ballet from age eight to 21 and spent three years working professionally in Chicago and Austin, Texas, after graduating from high school. At Columbia, she double majored in European history and evolutionary biology of the human species, became proficient in French, and was a staff writer and editor for the official magazine of the  Columbia Spectator . In the summer of 2016, she worked for a women-in-business magazine in New York, the following summer she was selected as an American Association of Magazine Editors intern and placed at  Foreign Policy magazine in Washington, DC, and in 2018 she wrote for the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project, a consortium of investigative reporting outlets based in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
