About Evan

Evan Tims spent his Luce year in Kathmandu, Nepal, as well as six weeks each in Thailand and Korea. In Nepal, Evan works with LaLit magazine, Nepal’s preeminent literary journal, to teach a climate fiction workshop with emerging Nepali writers as well as edit and publish Nepal’s first climate fiction anthology. Evan is also researching perceptions of Nepal’s water future among hydropower stakeholders and professionals with Policy Entrepreneurs, Inc. Evan has further worked for the Avni Center for Sustainability, and is currently developing public programming on climate change and urban futures with Utopia Kathmandu. Aside from his placements, Evan is pursuing his own creative writing alongside founding the In100Years project, a creative climate education and dialogue space which he hopes to develop into a nonprofit organization. Evan received his B.A. from Bard College in Human Rights and Written Arts in 2019. In 2018 and 2019, Evan received Critical Language Scholarships from the U.S. Dept. of State which funded his Bengali studies in Kolkata, India. After graduating, Evan worked for two years as a police misconduct investigator for the Civilian Complaint Review Board of NYC. Evan’s other passions include international literature, hiking, and singing.
