Blackfeet Festival National Museum of the American Indian: The Blackfeet Tribal Council expressed their appreciation to Kevin Gover, Director of NMAI and Sean Buffington, VP of the Henry Luce Foundation, in recognition of their generous support - each was honored with a Pendleton blanket.

On November 16–17, 2019, the National Museum of the American Indian (NMAI) continued its commemoration of Native American Heritage Month with the Blackfeet Nation Tribal Festival. The weekend celebration welcomed artists, performers, historians, and tradition bearers of the Blackfeet Reservation, one of the ten largest tribes in the U.S., located in northwestern Montana.

Chief Earl Old Person opened the festival which saw citizens of the Blackfeet Nation share their history and culture through music and dance performances, speeches, and demonstrations of traditional practices including quillwork, hide painting, and ledger art.

In recognition of their generous support, Luce Foundation Vice President Sean Buffington and Kevin Gover, Director of NMAI, were each honored by the Blackfeet Tribal Council with a Pendleton blanket.
