Vassar College 2018-2019 LIASE Participants

A LIASE implementation grant to Vassar College has supported a series of activities aimed at encouraging greater understanding of Asia in environmental studies. Over the past two summers, students have participated in research workshops in China where they visited labs at partner institutions, conducted field work, and developed individual research projects.

Jennie To, a 2019 LIASE student, compiled the previous cohort’s projects into a Storymap, which can be explored online. Their research focused on a range of urban and coastal water issues on Chongming island, an alluvial island at the mouth of the Yangtze River in Shanghai.
