Description

The product of collaboration among a diverse group of philanthropic leaders and foundation program officers, the Faith and Philanthropy Pooled Fund is an exploratory joint grantmaking initiative dedicated to deepening appreciation for the role of faith leaders, faith communities, and spiritual imagination in addressing a range of pressing contemporary challenges related to justice, democracy, belonging, and the health of the planet. With support from the Luce Foundation and others, the fund made a relatively modest start in 2023, awarding an initial set of twelve general operating support grants of $200,000 each to a range of innovative organizations. Given growing support from a larger group of institutional funders and individual donors, the fund seeks to expand its grantmaking reach in 2024, and to support aligned public storytelling efforts intended to introduce its grantees to a broader array of audiences and potential partners, in the world of philanthropy and beyond.
